Our Story
Con Sazón de Doña Beni
El Sabor de Doña Beni is more than a name on the door—it is an invitation to sit down, slow down, and remember where flavor really comes from: patience, tradition, and the hands that have stirred the same pots for generations.
You may also recognize us by our circular mark— Benni's Kitchen, Flavors of Peru—the same kitchen, the same heart, with a nod to the tastes we love from home.
Under the banner of La Cocina VROCC, we carry the tagline “El sabor de tus raíces”—the taste of your roots—because we believe food is one of the clearest paths back to memory, celebration, and belonging. The sub-brand Con Sazón de Doña Beni honors the personality behind the stove: a cook’s intuition, a pinch of courage, and the kind of seasoning you cannot buy in a jar.
Con Sazón de Doña Beni is our promise that every plate is seasoned with heart—as if you were eating in someone’s home, not just ordering at a counter.
Nestled in East Boston, we are proud to be part of a neighborhood where languages, music, and recipes from across Latin America meet on every block. Our kitchen draws especially on Peruvian and broader Latin American culinary heritage—bright citrus and ajíes from the coast, comforting stews and rice dishes from the highlands and the city alike—always with an eye toward feeding families, friends, and newcomers with equal warmth.
The Veronica Robles Cultural Center (VROCC) has long been a home for culture, dance, and community in East Boston. La Cocina extends that mission to the table: when you dine with us, you support a space where heritage is lived out loud—and where the next generation can taste what “roots” really mean.
Whether you are here for mariscos, a classic plato a la carta, or a cold Inka Kola with your meal, we are glad you came. Bienvenidos a la mesa de Doña Beni.
